Basic troubleshooting

1. Make sure all DotNetPanel applications (DNP Portal, DNP Enterprise Server and DNP Servers) are of the same version.

2. Make sure all DNP applications have been upgraded to the latest DNP release.

3. Make sure you are able to open all DotNetPanel applications (DNP Portal, DNP Enterprise Server and DNP Servers) URLs in web browser.

4. Make sure DNP Servers are able to manage systems where they deployed. For this, for example, from the panel open Windows Services (Configuration > Servers > Server name > Windows Services).

5. Those error messages can contain useful information for troubleshooting:

   a. Error message (if exists) with stack trace from DotNetPanel Audit Log (Serveradmin account home page -> Audit Log).

   b. Errors and warnings from DotNetPanel event log in the Windows Event Viewer (on Exchange mailbox server or server which manage mailbox server remotely/on SharePoint Server with DNP SharePoint module deployed/on CRM Server with DNP CRM module deployed).

To increase level of DotNetPanel event log you need to go to C:\DotNetPanel\Server (or another directory if you install DNP components to non-default paths) end edit web.config file with notepad. Find <add name="Log" value="1"/> and set value to 3. After this please check that DotNetPanel event log is set to "Override events as needed".

*Please note: The most important is first error or warning appeared in this log during error reproduction.

Error 0x80072035 while creating Organization

Additional information. This error appear in DotNetPanel event log on mailbox server (or on server which manage mailbox server or cluster remotely):

ERROR: HostedSolution

System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryServicesCOMException (0x80072035): The server is unwilling to process the request. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80072035)

This error appear when DNP procedure cannot create Universal Security Group. This happens when Active Directory is on Windows 2000 mixed mode. Please promote it (at least domain, but better forest too) at least to Windows 2000 native mode (or to highest functional level possible in your environment).

Error while creating the Hosted Organization: "Sub-domains are not allowed for the parent domain"

Error:

"Sub-domains are not allowed for the parent domain. This message means you are trying to add a domain that is a sub-domain of the domain belonging to other user. For example, some user have registered "domain.com" domain and you are trying to create "sub.domain.com". If that "parent" domain is yours you should set "Allow Sub-domains" checkbox for it."

Resolution: This means that under Hosted Organizations module settings you've add your temporary domain to some Hosting Space in DNP (http://help.dotnetpanel.com/ViewPage.aspx?SpaceID=23&PageID=248#Section4). Temporary domain name will be used as suffix when creating default domain for the Hosted Organizations. You need find that domain in the DNP and check "allow subdomains" for it.
